Corrosion resistance:
Alloy 1.4845 is characterized by high resistance to oxidizing and reducing atmospheres. It is resistant to many corrosive media such as water, steam, air, as well as weak acids and alkalis at room temperature. At higher temperatures, however, chromium carbides may form, which can impair corrosion resistance.
Applications:
Heat-resistant components in furnaces and combustion plants
Heat exchangers and boiler tubes in the chemical industry
Piping systems for food processing
Components for high-temperature gas cleaning
Vessels and equipment for the petrochemical industry
Piping systems for oil and gas production
