Alloy 6066 can be heat treated in order to increase its strength. The most common heat treatment conditions are:

O condition, soft: No heat treatment; the material is in the as-supplied condition.
T4 condition: Solution annealing and natural ageing to achieve a balanced combination of strength and toughness.
T6 condition: Solution annealing and artificial ageing to achieve higher strength values.

Applications:

Alloy 6066 is used in various applications requiring high strength and good corrosion resistance, such as:

Vehicle construction: automotive frames, chassis components
Aerospace: aircraft structural parts, aerospace components
Sports equipment: bicycle frames, golf clubs
Industrial applications: machine parts, housings, frame structures
